Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind offers programs for older adults to help individuals with vision loss become or remain independent. Older adult services include: Rehabilitation Services, Case Management services and the Circle of Friends Support Groups.
Case Management is a service that CLB provides to view the ‘whole person’, which includes family, friends and support agencies. Case Management also assists with any concerns that prevent the visually impaired person from gaining independence.
Circle of Friends Support GroupCircle of Friends is a support group organized by Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind for adults experiencing vision loss. Members of the Circle of Friends participate in a multitude of activities including: cooking classes, arts and crafts, exercise, swimming, attending hands-on trade shows, hearing special guest speakers, discussing various topics and much more! With groups meeting twice a month in Riverdale, MD, Silver Spring, MD and Arlington, VA, Circle of Friends is an opportunity for adults with vision loss to share similar life experiences.
